アフリカの子どもたちへ、日本からでもできること

はじめまして！エイズ孤児支援NGO・PLASの藤原祐希と申します。

私は今、PLASの海外事業担当として、年に4回ほど、それぞれ1‐2か月間ウガンダ/ケニアに出張に行き、事業を進めています。

Hi there:) My name is Yuki Fujiwara, and I am working in Aids orphan Support NGO PLAS (Japanese NGO).

I am dividing my time between PLAS office in Japan and the fields in Uganda and in Kenya.

朗らかなHIV陽性のシングルマザーたち

PLASが現在主に支援しているのは、HIV陽性の片親家庭の保護者とその子どもたちです。

安定した仕事に就くことができず年収約2万円、体調が不安定な中、ほぼ自給自足の生活を送るHIV陽性のシングルマザーとその子どもたちは、それでも朗らかに日々できることをして暮らしています。

ただしそれは常にギリギリで、今日のごはんがどうなるか、という暮らし。明日のごはんを考える余裕、ましてや子どもたちを学校に行かせつづける余裕はありません。

PLASはスモールビジネスによる生計向上と、保護者と子どもへの個別カウンセリングを通し、家庭の生計を向上させ、お母さんと、子どもたちが前向きに生きられる未来をつくることを目指しています。

HIV positive single mothers (and single fathers) and thier children are the main target beneficiaries of PLAS.

Those affected by HIV/AIDS single headed households whom supported by PLAS often live under 133GBP per year, having their small gardens. Although in Uganda and Kenya, school fees meant to be "free", yet schools require school fees, and chase children out of school once their parents failed to pay the fee. In addition, uniforms and utencils are to be bought by each households.

Projects of PLAS aims to increase households income and livelihoods through small businesses including agriculture, cafe, or hair salons. Also the projects aims to let the parent and the child to have higher self-esteem through counseling sessions, and let them to have future visions. It is not the nature of PLAS projects to just "giving" and recipients "receiving", yet the projects are the sustainable ones. To support HIV positive single mothers (and fathers) and their children to be independent and live positively.

初フルマラソン完走に挑戦します！

体育は小学校から5をとれたことがありません。

5㎞のマラソン大会にも出たことはありません。

中高の体育ので毎年1回ある、校庭をぐるぐる回る1㎞の持久走は大嫌いで、何度おなかが痛いことにしようとおもったか…（笑）

でも、挑戦してみることはできると思うのです。

古代アテネの人たちから走ってきたその先に、何が見えるのかな、とわくわくしています。

そして、このページが届いた方が、少しでもウガンダとケニアの片田舎の、大変だけれども朗らかに暮らしているシングルマザーとその子どもたちとつながる機会となれば、それ以上に嬉しいことはありません。

I have even never joined the Park Run.

However, I've decided to join this Marathon with 42km!

This would be my great opportunity to challenge myself, knowing I am having cheers from you:)
